– On Sunday, July 3, the worst suicide bombing since the group invaded Iraq was witnessed

President Muhammadu Buhari has added his voice to the wide condemnation that greeted the terrorist attack on spots in Saudi Arabia, which happened just a day to the Muslims’ end of Ramadan festival called Eid-ul-Fitr. The attack on Saudi Arabia came just two days after a huge bomb exploded and killed at least 123 people in Baghdad, the capital of Iraq.

As a result of the suicide bombing in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, number of casualties has risen to at least 250, as revealed by the government of IraqThe Sunday bombing is seen as the worst suicide bombing ever since the US-led coalition forces invaded the Middle-East country in 2003.

Reports had it that a lorry was packed with explosives, which were detonated in the Karrada area of the Baghdad at the time some families were shopping for the public holiday to mark the end of Ramadan fast.

The dreaded Islamic State (IS) alleged it carried out the deadly attack. It was previously learnt that from the suicide bombing incident that number of death as 165.

Iraq was thrown into an official state of mourning after the bombing. The destruction of the area was all but complete. Bewildered local residents have held candlelight vigils and prayed for peace.
